Terms of Use

1. Overview of the Service
WebFileTools is an online tooling platform operated as a personal project. It provides multiple browser-based tools available without installation.
Access to the service is free. Some advanced features require creating an account. By using WebFileTools, you agree to these Terms of Use in their entirety.
2. Local processing tools (no data upload)
Image compressor, Image converter, QR Code generator — these tools run entirely in your browser. No file, image, or data is ever sent to our servers. Processing happens locally on your device using standard browser APIs (Canvas API, JavaScript libraries).
These tools do not require an account and collect no data whatsoever.
3. AI Assistant
The AI Assistant sends your messages to a language model (LLM) hosted on our own infrastructure. Your conversations are not forwarded to any third-party service (OpenAI, Google, etc.) and are not retained after processing. Never include sensitive information (personal data, passwords, confidential details) in your messages.
Responses generated by the AI are provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors. Always verify critical information through reliable sources.
4. File sharing tool
The File Sharing tool uploads your files to our servers to generate a shareable link. By using this tool, you explicitly agree that your files will be temporarily stored on our infrastructure.
Accepted file types
Executables, scripts, and system binaries are rejected.
Antivirus scanning
Every uploaded file is automatically scanned by an antivirus (ClamAV) before being accepted on our servers. Files detected as malicious are immediately rejected and never stored. This analysis is performed entirely on our own infrastructure — no file is sent to third-party services for scanning.
Retention periods

Any file stored on our servers can be deleted by you at any time from your dashboard. Files that exceed the retention period are automatically deleted without notice.
Prohibited content: sharing illegal, malicious, or rights-infringing files, or any content contrary to applicable law, is strictly forbidden. We reserve the right to remove any file without notice in case of violation.
5. Account creation and responsibilities
Creating an account requires a valid email address. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information during registration
- Keep your credentials confidential
- Not share your account with third parties
- Only upload files you own or have the right to use
In case of a breach of these terms, we reserve the right to suspend or delete your account without notice.
6. Personal data
Data collected when creating an account (email, optional name, hashed password) is used solely for authentication and service operation. It is never sold or shared with third parties.
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data under applicable privacy laws. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@webfiletools.com.
Deleting your account results in the deletion of all your data and associated files within 30 days.
7. Limitation of liability
WebFileTools is provided "as is", without any guarantee of continuous availability. We cannot be held liable for file loss, service interruption, or any indirect damage resulting from use of the platform.
It is your responsibility to keep a local copy of any important file you share via our service.
8. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. Users with an account will be notified by email in case of material changes. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
9. Email communications and newsletter
By creating an account on WebFileTools, you agree that your email address may be used to send you service-related information, including important updates, new features, and our periodic newsletter. You may unsubscribe at any time from your profile page.
Unsubscribing does not apply to essential transactional communications required for your account to function (email verification, password reset, security notifications).
