1. Service overview

WebFileTools is an online platform operated as a personal project. It provides a collection of tools accessible from any web browser without installation.

Access to the service is free. Some advanced features require creating an account. By using WebFileTools, you accept these terms in their entirety.

2. Local processing tools (no data sent)

Image compressor, Image converter, QR Code generator — these tools run entirely in your browser. No file, no image, and no data is transmitted to our servers. Processing is performed locally on your device using standard browser APIs (Canvas API, JavaScript libraries).

These tools do not require an account and collect no data.

3. AI Assistant

The AI Assistant tool sends your messages to a language model (LLM) hosted on our own infrastructure. Your conversations are not transmitted to third-party services (OpenAI, Google, etc.) and are not stored after processing. Never include sensitive information (personal data, passwords, confidential information) in your messages.

Responses generated by the AI are provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors. Always verify critical information with reliable sources.

4. File sharing tool

The File Sharing tool uploads your files to our servers in order to generate a shareable link. By using this tool, you explicitly agree that your files will be temporarily stored on our infrastructure.

Accepted file types

Only the following file types are allowed:

🖼️ Images — PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG, GIF

📄 Documents — PDF, TXT, CSV, JSON

🗜️ Archives — ZIP

📊 Office — DOCX, XLSX, PPTX

Executables, scripts, and system binaries are rejected.

Antivirus scanning

Every uploaded file is automatically scanned by an antivirus (ClamAV) before being accepted on our servers. Files detected as malicious are rejected immediately and are not stored. This scan is performed entirely on our infrastructure — no files are sent to third-party services for analysis.

Retention periods

Scenario	Retention
Without an account (anonymous)	30 days, then automatically deleted
Free account	Stored as long as the account is active (50 MB quota)
Pro account	Stored as long as the account is active (unlimited quota)

Any file remaining on our servers can be deleted at any time by the user from their dashboard. Files exceeding the retention period are automatically deleted without notice.

Prohibited content: it is strictly forbidden to share illegal, malicious files, files infringing on third-party rights, or any content that violates applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any file without notice in case of violation.

5. Account creation and responsibilities

Creating an account requires a valid email address. You agree to:

Provide accurate information during registration
Keep your credentials confidential
Not share your account with third parties
Only upload files that you own or have the right to use

In case of violation of these terms, we reserve the right to suspend or delete your account without notice.

6. Personal data

Data collected during account creation (email, optional name, hashed password) is used solely for authentication and service operation. It is neither sold nor shared with third parties.

You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@webfiletools.com.

Deleting your account results in the deletion of all your associated data and files within 30 days.

7. Limitation of liability

WebFileTools is provided "as is", with no guarantee of permanent availability. We cannot be held liable for file loss, service interruptions, or any indirect damage related to the use of the platform.

It is your responsibility to keep a local copy of any important file you share through our service.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be modified at any time. Account holders will be notified by email of any substantial changes. Continued use of the service after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

9. Email communications and newsletter

By creating an account on WebFileTools, you agree that your email address may be used to send you service-related information, including important updates, new features, and our periodic newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time from your profile settings.

Unsubscribing does not apply to transactional communications essential to your account (email verification, password reset, security notifications).
